At Biogen, partnerships are a key component of our strategy. We've streamlined our partnership evaluation process in an effort to be the partner of choice for companies with complementary products and vision.

For research stage products, Biogen seeks partners that fit our strategic areas of focus in immunology, neurobiology and oncology. For partnerships on clinical stage or marketed products, Biogen seeks opportunities to leverage our proven commercial expertise in Neurology, and our exciting new efforts in Dermatology and Rheumatology. We have experience in the development of small molecules as well as proteins.

Biogen Understands Partnering

Biogen’s pipeline demonstrates our belief in partnering, with key partnerships with Elan Corporation, ICOS Corporation and NsGene. We are searching for more major business and academic alliances, both for late-stage products and technology, and we have a track record of committing the resources and effort to making a partnership work.

World-Class Protein Manufacturing

Biogen’s capacity for protein manufacturing is world-class in quality and scale. With plants in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, and Cambridge, Massachusetts, we are able to meet the manufacturing needs of our internal pipeline and also offer the potential to manufacture protein products that we partner. With the addition of our large-scale manufacturing facility in Research Triangle Park, our mammalian cell production capacity of over 100,000 L is among the greatest in the world. Biogen has a long track record in protein manufacturing process development.

Biogen seeks in-licensing and partnering opportunities with the potential for meaningful therapeutic impact. In addition, Biogen seeks ways to expand our technical capabilities in R&D by accessing innovative research tools.
